"Judge Jeanine Pirro" will premiere on weekday afternoons, beginning Sept. 22 on the CW network. The hourlong program, she said, will provide her a great platform to mete out justice with her own "go for the jugular" style.

And what does Jeanine have to say to those who would, er, doubt her qualifications to "mete out justice?"

"Rest assured, the audience will take something away from this, not just about the law but about real life," she told The Journal News yesterday. "And my own experience, both professionally as a D.A. and a judge, as well as my personal life experience, are going to add to a very exciting and very real court show."

Aw, shucks.  I can't help myself from asking.  So what "personal life experience" are we talking about, Jeanine?"  Would that be when hubby Al copped the federal plea and went to the land of orange jumpsuits?  Would that be the derailment of your senatorial campaign when the feds starting looking up your dress after the Bernie Kerik eavesdropping issue?  Or perhaps the reversal for egregious prosecutorial misconduct in the Anthony DeSimone murder case?  Oops, that would fall under professional experience.  Me bad.

So perhaps I'm unimpressed with Ms. Pirro's qualifications to be a TV judge.  What do I know?  Let's turn to the experts, shall we?

Bennett Gershman, a Pace Law professor and one of her harshest critics, was less enthusiastic.  "I think it's appropriate that she hears small claims cases on an up-and-coming channel," Gershman said. "Of course, we're all waiting breathlessly to see how she does in this new adventure of hers."

Indeed we are.  But I do have one question.  What is the "CW network?"  Do complaining witnesses now have a channel of their very own?
