Brutal Attack on Memphis Cop's Fist By Transexual's Face

You know how those darn transsexuals can be so violent, using their face to cause grievous injury to the fist of a police officer.  Thankfully, one Memphis cop's fist was protected by his handcuffs, which saved him from permanent debilitating harm from this vicious she-male, Duana Johnson.

But there remains a nagging question that keeps coming up in these videos.  Aside from the question of whether anyone at the Memphis Police Department would care about this beating, if this video didn't find its way onto a news report and thus get public exposure, one point recurs in almost every one of these beating videos that fails to receive any mention.

Why is it that this occurs in a police station (read a building full of sworn law enforcement officers) and yet not a soul does anything to stop it.

Understand, we're not talking about one cop breaking the blue wall of silence.  They don't have to rat out a brother, something that just can't happen.  We're talking about a cop stopping another cop from the ongoing beating of a human being.  No snitching necessary.  Just stop the beating.  Nothing more.

While the individual cop, and his probationary holder (you have to learn how to be a real cop at some point), are certainly the focal points of blame for this outrage, am I the only one who wonders why there isn't another cop anywhere in that stationhouse willing to say or do anything about it?

This is not, as is the general thrust of commentary, an isolated problem caused by "one bad apple."  This is the product of one violent cop enabled by the failure to act of every other cop.

I harp on this whenever the name Abner Louima comes up.  I continue to do so now.  Do not forget that this beating happened in a stationhouse full of police officers sworn to protect.

And the concern for the harm to the officer's fist was quite endearing.  It's nice to know that they have some humanity, if only for themselves.
