Is it because the Paper of Record, The Gray Lady, The New York Times, doesn’t think what’s happening with Israel and the Palestinians is newsworthy? That can’t be, since that’s at the top of the front page, prime real estate for the paper whose slogan is “all the news that fits we print.”
How then is it possible that there was no mention of what happened in Los Angeles?
An attack on diners outside a sushi restaurant by people shouting slogans against Israel is being investigated by Los Angeles police as an antisemitic hate crime.
People shouting slogans against Israel seems a bit passive, but at least the LA Times published the story, even if it did its best to bury the facts deep down.
“They were chanting, ‘Death to Jews’ and ‘Free Palestine,’” said the witness, who asked to remain anonymous because he feared for his safety. “They had malice.”
In the video, about eight people, most dressed in black, converge on the diners. The fight grows increasingly violent as it spills farther onto the sidewalk. One man swings a metal stanchion at the attackers, who then push him against a car, punch and kick him, the video shows.
Missing from the story is that these “people shouting slogans against Israel” were wearing masks to conceal their faces, waving a palestinian flag and asking diners whether they were Jews, whereupon they beat them.

But who knows what this could possibly be about?
“We don’t know what the motivation is of the people who perpetrated this hate crime, but we’re certainly aware [that] what happens in Israel — what happens in the Middle East — does impact us here on the ground,” said Jeffrey Abrams, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League Los Angeles.
It’s a curiosity how that ADL could simultaneously call it a “hate crime” while being totally befuddled as to the motivation of “the people” who came to beat Jews. And it’s a curiosity that the New York Times couldn’t manage to find room to fit it into its coverage of “news.” Then again, maybe they saw it as just a local LA story, unworthy of their prominent real estate like truly critical stories.

Or perhaps the accosting, beating and harassment of diners at outdoor restaurants has become too commonplace to be anything more than another “dog bites man” story. Nothing to see here, and besides, it was just Jews being beaten by a masked mob for a woke cause.

It may be a sin to want to see violent repercussions visited on the scumbags, but nonetheless I would love to see them try that in Houston (where many Jews carry guns and more than a few gun toting Born again Christians would be willing to step up to the defense of unarmed Jews).
At the risk of being berated by our host for violating the rule against posting videos, I feel compelled to share the views of writer/songwriter/novelist Kinky Friedman that seem appropo:
I’m a sucker for Kinky.
I got to meet him when he was running for governor of Texas and my wife and I both voted for him. A VERY interesting guy. 🙂
In the world of the NYT, there won’t be any stories that undercut the party line that their tribe of street thugs are the forces of love and tolerance. Obviously, masked black-shirts beating Jews for some big-tent cause could not have actually happened, and accordingly, they are obligated to not report it.
Well it got a full article in the NYT today, so I guess they do think it’s newsworthy.
It’s amazing how that happens after they’ve been called out. Even so, it wasn’t much of an article.
