It’s been clear for a while now that the Trump administration ignored Judge Boasberg’s order, violated Judge Xinis’ order and even ignored the Supreme Court’s decision in Noem v. Abrego Garcia, which may have been unclear with the meaning of the word “effectuate,” but held that “facilitate” was more than clear.
The order properly requires the Government to “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s release from custody in El Salvador and to ensure that his case is handled as it would have been had he not been improperly sent to El Salvador.
Seen Abrego Garcia around lately? Heard about the government’s efforts to “facilitate” his return? That’s because the government didn’t facilitate. The government did nothing to comply with Judge Xinis’ order, even though the Supreme Court held it must. And what did the courts do about it? In fact, it’s largely disappeared from the news, something else to be forgotten in the daily hourly fog of Trumpianism.
But Judge Brian Murphy in Boston didn’t mince words. He didn’t give the government ten or a hundred more chances to pretend the government didn’t spit on his order. He called it.
As the hearing began, officials from the Homeland Security Department in Washington disclosed that eight immigrants had been deported Tuesday on a flight to a third country, but they refused to say where the men were going.
While much of the discussion at the court hearing took place under seal, Judge Murphy said that the government had given the deported men little more than 24 hours’ notice that they were being removed from the United States — a time frame that he described as “plainly insufficient.”
“The department’s actions in this case,” he went on, “are unquestionably violative of this court’s order.”
The eight immigrants, according to the Times, were headed to South Sudan and made it at least as far as Djibouti. And the Trump administration swiftly responded to Judge Murphy.
It’s another attempt by a far-left activist judge to dictate the foreign policy of the United States — and protect the violent criminal illegal immigrants President Donald J. Trump and his administration have removed from our streets.
“We conducted a deportation flight from Texas to remove some of the most barbaric, violent individuals illegally in the United States. No country on earth wanted to accept them because their crimes are so uniquely monstrous and barbaric … Thanks to the courageous work of the State Department and ICE and the President’s national security team, we found a nation that was willing to accept custody of these vicious illegal aliens,” said Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“As a career law enforcement officer and a career officer with ICE, I’ve been dealing with these recalcitrant countries for years — having to see repeated murders, sex offenders, violent criminals re-released back into the United States because their home countries would not take them back,” said Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons. “Under President Trump and under the leadership of Secretary Noem, we are now able to remove these public safety threats so they won’t prey on the community anymore.”
Following are names, pictures and the crimes of the eight people, such as this:
He has convictions for homicide, armed robbery, strongarm robbery, kidnapping, and false impersonation of an official. He was arrested by ICE on May 2, 2025.
Seems odd that with all these convictions, he would be walking around to be arrested by ICE, but you never know. And if the convictions were from Cuba, it’s hard to understand how the US would know about it since we’re not besties these days.
The Trump press release then comes to its closing paragraph.
“A local judge in Massachusetts is trying to force the United States to bring back these uniquely barbaric monsters who present a clear and present threat to the safety of the American people and American victims.
Rarely are federal district court judges referred to as “local judge,” but that may be a reflection of Tricia’s lack of familiarity with the federal judiciary. Or it could be intended as an overt smear, kinda like “Little Marco” before Rubio bent the knee.
While we are fully compliant with the law and court orders, it is absolutely absurd for a district judge to try and dictate the foreign policy and national security of the United States of America,” said Assistant Secretary McLaughlin.
This is, of course, a difficult sentence to parse, given that she simultaneously claims that the government is in compliance with the law and court orders, which the court has already found to be “unquestionably” violated, and called it “absolutely absurd” even as the eight immigrants who were denied due process and the opportunity to challenge their deportations by deporting them without sufficient time to do so.
The constitutional crisis has been upon us for some time now, even though Judges Boasberg and Xinis have tried their darndest not to bring the pus-filled pimple to a head. Judge Murphy, however, left no doubt that his order was violated.
“This is a really big deal,” the judge said. “It’s a big deal to lie to a court under oath.”
There are two questions now that remain unanswered. What will the courts do about it, and whether Trump will finally come out with his version of “let them enforce it”? The answer to the former is a mystery. The answer to the latter seems “unquestionably” obvious, even if the judiciary is willing to be complicit in pretending otherwise.

At what point does one of these judges start locking up the agents who are actually doing this work?
l read there is an item the budget bill preventing any gov’t agency from enforcing contempt orders on the administration.
What will the courts do? Wither and suffer the indignities without having the decency to die. And that might not even be the worst option considering the alternative is what? Civil war? Anarchy? Uncertainty to say the least.
So now a country that DIDN’T agree to take the horrible, evil, very bad deportees is stuck with them?
This seems like a crisis of such magnitude it may shake Djibouti.
“[S]hake Djibouti”, I see what you did there. Well played.
Shake Djibouti is Sheik Yerbouti’s cousin. Where is Howl and Guitar Dave when you need them?
They hyperbole from this administration is making my head hurt (“barbaric” for armed robbery?). What happened to, I don’t know, sending them to prison? If these people have committed horrific crimes, try them, convict them and put them in one of the many, many prisons in this country.
If they can get away with sending immigrants to countries where they have no citizenship, probably don’t speak the language or have any other connections, I guarantee they will try to do it with US citizens.
Joseph Welch essentially ended the Army-McCarthy hearings by asking McCarthy, “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last?” Well, this administration has no sense of decency. And they are proud of it.
