Thanksgiving, 2025: A Time For Sharing

For the first time since my baby boy was born, he will not be with us for Thanksgiving. First, the lost boys were gone, and now he has moved on to the sharing stage of life, spending Thanksgiving with the family of his special person.

Last year, they came here, home, for Thanksgiving and it was wonderful. It’s only fair that they go elsewhere this year. Fairness is good, but it doesn’t change the fact that I miss having them here for Thanksgiving.

I thank you all, even those who come here to tell me how wrong and awful I am, for spending your valuable time reading what I write. Your time and attention have value, and whatever the reason, spending it here is deeply appreciated.

I hope you are with the people you love. I hope you can take a moment from the conflicts, the outrage, the sadness and the hatred that sometimes seems overwhelming, and be thankful for all we have. Please know that I am thankful. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving, Scott! If you lived close, I would invite you to our small holiday table of 4 because we’ll have plenty of food, snd it would be fun to finally meet you.

Nah, fairness sucks when it shrinks the Thanksgiving guest list although it does enrich the leftovers. May this year’s quietude portend much chaos next year. May you be here for thot chaos. This Jersey Boy cum Cheesehead has far to many blessings to count, though count I shall – and thankfully. One of them, a predawn daily one, is SJ with my java. Thank you, Scott. This tavern never disappoints, thought it may challenge the feint if heart.

My wife and I are alone this Thanksgiving as well. So we decided to invite the 96 yr old woman down the street to share with us.

Thanksgiving is what you make it and we have much to be thankful for.

May everyone visiting here have a great Thanksgiving day and a blessèd year.

Happy Thanksgiving, Scott. Thanks for today’s thoughtful and touching missive and for enlightening and entertaining us throughout the year.

My companion for Thanksgiving is Kemosabe, the wonder dog. Who, FWIW, thinks today is much ado about stuffing.

Happy Thanksgiving Scott. Thankful that you’re still continuing the blog and didn’t succumb to extra long Twitter posts. Hope you and Dr SJ have a good holiday!

I love this site. Thank you for running it, and giving me a perspective on law, and in turn, life that I hadn’t considered before.

    Happy Thanksgiving Scott.

I’m a day late, Scott, having collapsed essentially without electronic connections into what has always been my favorite holiday. But I do, albeit belatedly, wish you a happy Thanksgiving.
