Simple Justice is running a little slower than normal this week because I’m on trial (or “in trial” as Texans feel compelled to say, for some unknown reason). Without the ability to keep abreast of the news, the decisions, the debates and Britney Spears’ learning the ropes of motherhood, we will not have the number or breadth of posts this week that one can usually find here.
The trial should be over Friday (I hope) and then I can turn my attention back to the important work of blawging. Stay tuned.

You’re “in trial” if you’re the attorney. You’re “on trial” if you’re defendant. Geez. New York lawyers.
I think both are appropriate. Consider the doctor who is “on call”.
I’m not getting anywhere near what they want to call it in Texas. I’m on trial in Manhattan, and we call it “on trial.” If someone HERE said he was “in trial,” the judge would say he was “in sane.”
