As has often been discussed, fear is the coin of the realm in politics.  Forget persuasiveness.  Who cares about hope?  Our government accomplishes much more with fear than anything else.  After all, why else would a majority of Americans have approved of the invasion of a small, inconsequential sovereign nation at the expense of the lives of American youth and laying waste to our economy, if not for fear?

So Mark Draughn, our Windypundit, has borrowed the idea from  Drug WarRant to create the Fear Card.  It’s a beaut!

Don’t leave home without it. 

Fear of crime.  Fear of terrorism.  Fear of the dark.  It doesn’t matter, because as long as they can keep you afraid of something, they can control you.  And isn’t that what democracy is really all about?
