Apology To Cookeville Cop, More or Less

A while back, I  posted about a video that was supposed to show a Cookeville, Tennesee cop planting marijuana on a perp that was caught on the dash cam.

Today, a heads up came in from  Walter Olson that Carlos Ferell, who claimed that it was planted pot, now admits that he had the grass all along.  I owe Officer Chris Melton an apology for this, and thank Walter for letting me know.

Ferell is suing for the use of excessive force because the police dog bit him on the arm and leg, but now the claim that he was framed is out the window.  Without the allegation that the cop planted the pot on the perp, this is just another “dog bites man” story.
