Radley Balko called this the nerdiest video every made on police abuse. That’s a tall order, but if not the nerdiest, it’s up there.
On the other hand, there’s nothing like a pissed Trekkie (on his 40th birthday) to put together an interesting yet damning video of the banality of everyday police work. Just doing his job, you know.

If you can stand to watch the whole nerdy video, it is rather intriguing in my opinion. Maybe the video of the cop at a DUI checkpoint throwing my Halloween candy teeth at me and my daughter would be nerdy too, but it lasted only about 30 seconds, except I made no video. I told the cop, “You can use these teeth to lie through instead of your own when you write police reports.” Apparently, he didn’t like my comment.
Telling the story just doesn’t have the same impact as a video, even if it’s better and shorter. This one went on longer than most would prefer, but it makes its point.
Great video!!! If only the citizenry had their own video cameras for purposes of documentation. Wait, we do. So why aren’t more people carrying them? Hurray for the protagonist in this one though. If only more people would care to know their rights like he did, there might not be this silent victim phenomenon that seems so prevalent in our culture. This is a wonderful website too! Thank you so much for maintaining it.
