She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

I’m sorry for your loss.

I’m sorry for your loss and wish you and all who loved her deep condolences.
Very much in my thoughts and condolences. Looking at how you’ve turned out, I think it’s fair to say that your mom was your biggest fan and proud of what you do and stand for.
I am so sorry. I lost my father Dec 17th. I think about him every day. I have regrets–most really baseless–but it still haunts me even though I know logically better.
One focus on the memorial and burial for now. After that is over it is bills, cancelling things, and the estate.
Funeral director should handle notifying Soc Security. Have her SS# handy. They will also get your death cert. Have them get a dozen copies–you will need them and you don’t want to wait to order them later.
Check any places she worked for (pension), any credit cards, organizations she belonged to for small life insurance claims for members. It helps with the costs of burial.
Someone needs to write her obit…and maybe put together a memorial.
Keep track of all expenses, all letters coming in or going out (log them) to thank and contact friends, find out what services need cancelling. We held off on email and phone accounts for friend and debt contacts), but will be stopping this this week.
Bank, Insurance, Car titles, Home/property (get value), IRA, stock (get price on date of death and store it somewhere), need to do final tax and possibly estate tax at some point this year. Search her computer–hope you have list of passwords.
Give clothing, books, etc away. Start divvying up mementos, etc. Be prepared to find the things a mom keeps of her children’s; loves as they grow up all throughout her home and share them with your siblings/kids. It will choke you up. Even now I find something and wonder if it had special meaning for my father in some what that is now lost to us for not asking sooner.
Some sleepless nights and pain. But that is because you loved her.
I’m so sorry.
