If you are doing the Viking cruise, my wife and I did it about 8 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were quite a bit younger than almost all of the other passengers (who were retirees or almost-retirees), but that just meant nothing moved too fast for us. The sights along the Wachau Valley are tremendous, and I would recommend seeing the Lipizzaner stallions in Vienna if you can.
