Mark Britton, Avvo CEO and loyal Simple Justice reader, has solved the Michelle mystery. It appears that the Times Union spelled the name wrong, and that this is the Michelle Hirshman who represented Governor Spitzer.
From her Paul Weiss bio:
A partner in the Litigation Department, Michele Hirshman focuses her practice on internal investigations and white collar defense matters. Ms. Hirshman comes to Paul, Weiss from the New York Office of the Attorney General where she served as first deputy attorney general under then Attorney General Eliot Spitzer. Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office, Ms. Hirshman served as an assistant United States attorney in the Southern District of New York for eleven years. In the course of her tenure, she served as chief of the Public Corruption Unit, where she led major investigations and prosecutions of government fraud and political and police corruption. Ms. Hirshman has significant jury trial experience, and has argued many appeals before appellate courts throughout her career. She is a recipient of the John Marshall Award for Outstanding Legal Achievement from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Ms. Hirshman was articles editor of the Yale Law Journal.
She probably has plenty of pros experience as Chief of the Public Corruption Unit.

The Albany Times Union as well as 1010 Wins says that Eliot Spitzer is represented by an attorney named Michelle Hershman.
His lawyer, Michelle Hershman, did not take calls to her office. She formerly worked with Spitzer’s attorney general’s office when he garnered international attention for his prosecution of securities fraud on Wall Street.
I’ve googled, Avvo’d, M-H’d Michelle Hershman, with negative results.
A little help here. Can anyone provide any background on Ms. Hershman. Odd that a former prosecutor has no readily available track record. Or existence other than in these reports.

Probably a pseudonym for one of his dominatrixes.
Scott – Consistent with my blog thoughts (http://www.avvoblog.com) that I think of you most every day, I thought I would drop you a line to let you know that it is Michelle HIRSHMAN at Paul Weiss. Here is her firm profile (http://www.paulweiss.com/lawyers/detail.aspx?attorney=719), which indicates she was deputy AG under Spitzer.
Mark
That’s very thoughtful of you Mark. So much for the Times Union getting the name right.
Why Is Spitzer Silent?
Eliot Spitzer learned that he was a target of a federal prosecution, Client-9 (the first good use for the Beatles’ White Album song ever) on Friday, and issued his public “apologia” on
Monday.
