A while back, I switched over to RSS feeds in a losing effort to keep abreast of the ever-growing blawgosphere. This isn’t to say that there are too many blawgs. It’s to say that there just isn’t enough time in the day.
I’ve just taken a few minutes to add new blawgs to my criminal law blogroll, to better reflect the blawgs I think have much to offer. I’ve included a few that should have been there long ago, and I somehow neglected to include them way back when. I know there are still more that I’ve missed, and if I’ve left your blawg off, please remind me so I can add it in.
But this raises the question, again, of how to keep up on the blawgosphere. I’ve come to realize that there are some very practical limits, most prominent amongst them being time. Even with the RSS feed, providing me a blurb from a fairly broad variety of blawgs, I’m losing ground. I can return from court to find 50 or more new posts on my feed, and a good 6 or 7 minutes to peruse them before my next appointment.
This is offered as an apology to the many other blawgers who have written great posts on topics that I post about here, but I’ve neglected to mention your post or blawg. I frequently recall having seen a post on a subject before, but can’t quite recall where. It’s an age thing. You’ll find out about it.
I don’t want to be so discourteous and unappreciative of my fellow blawgers. There is so much great stuff out there, so many interesting perspectives and enlightening posts, that the breadth of conversation has become overwhelming to a dinosaur like me. If only I had all day to read and write. How great would that be?
Forgive me if it appears that I’ve neglected your blawg or your post. If there’s been no mention of you in a while, it isn’t a reflection of anything negative. I am now coming to appreciate the situation others were in when Simple Justice first appeared, and was roundly ignored by the best and worst blawgs.
But most of all, it’s important that you know that I am doing my best to follow as many blawgs as possible, and I appreciate your efforts enormously. I’m just not up to the task of reading as much as I should to be on top of the blawgosphere.

When we get the kinks worked out of LexMonitor, we’ll build the Scott Greenfield Memorial Version highlighting posts and blogs that would be to your liking. Though it’s scary, you have a growing following that like your take on things. 😉
Memorial?
Oh crap. It’s worse than I thought.
Some guys get riled up over “post theft.”
I realize that human memory is faulty. We often think our ideas are original. People post something they saw somewhere else without realizing it.
Hell, I just ripped off one of your posts without realizing it. I read SJ every day, so it’s unlikely I hadn’t seen the post on the bicyclist-cop encounter.
Some guys, though, just refuse to give hat tips. I’ll see stuff I posted on my blog on another site in a couple of hours. Far too many times for it to be random chance. I don’t really care. I got over the worst of the navel-gazing aspects of blogging years ago.
Way Too Much Good Stuff in the Blawgosphere
Following my apologia about my inability to keep up with the wealth of great posts in the blawgosphere, today brings a cornucopia of stuff worthy of everyone’s attention. Since I’ve sworn off doing more than 27 posts per day in the interest of time and sanity, here’s a survey of the posts since I would be remiss not to post something about them.
