Someone Is Keeping Score

I’m embarrassed to say this, but I didn’t know that Packratt, proprietor-at-risk of Injustice in Seattle, was a twitterer.  Until yesterday, when I had to learn from Radley Balko that he has a twitter feed.  Why is Balko always at least one step ahead of me?

If you are interested in keeping abreast of developments in law enforcement misconduct, this is the motherlode.  Packratt is doing an unbelievable job of marshalling and disseminating reports from across the country.  If there’s anyone you need to follow on twitter to keep abreast of the subject, it’s Packratt.  His twitter feed is @Injust_Seattle, and he has my admiration and appreciation for his efforts.

    Scott, gee, I’m honored and a bit overwhelmed by the praise, thank you.

    You know, when I first came up with the idea of actually tracking all the cases of misconduct reported in the US each day I thought, “oh, it won’t be too hard, just a few cases each day…”

    No, yesterday I added over 20 new articles that were reported in the news that day alone. It’s becoming a lot more work than I anticipated, but hopefully it will be worth it to gather at least some statistics about how pervasive the problem of police misconduct really is in the US.
