The Democrats are unprincipled, unfocused and spineless.
The Republicans are unprincipled, focused and Machiavellian.
The Tea Party is principled, focused and cluelessly simplistic.
Outlier ideologies may have their points, but offer no panacea. Religious doctrine hasn’t worked for churches, no less secular governance.
It’s a truism that we get the government we deserve. We are not exceptional.
This is not going to end well.

There are four parties because both of the traditional parties have hinged and unhinged wings.
But surely the Republican party isn’t an actual political party. Is it not a sham – a front for the rich which tells lies for votes, the “Tea Party” (also not a party) being the extreme recreation of this? Isn’t their true platform: no taxes for the rich, no controls on corporate actions, no obedience to laws, government subsidies for corporations only?
So the two actual parties are the “hinged and unhinged wings” of the Democratic Party?
How did I know that you would have something to say about this post? I’m must be prescient.
It’s a dirty job but someone has to do it.
When folks critize but offer no resolutions, they can add themselves to the line list of complainers and finger pointers.
Expecting a silver bullet?
When idiots vote for people intent on screwing them royally they hardly support any move to good governance.
Quote: “With No Jobs, Plenty of Time for Tea Party”
Mr. Grimes, who receives Social Security, has filled the back seat of his Mercury Grand Marquis with the literature of the movement, including Glenn Beck’s “Arguing With Idiots” and Frederic Bastiat’s “The Law,” which denounces public benefits as “false philanthropy.”
It’s one of the things that I find most difficult to understand, how people no longer understand what’s in their enlightened self-interest. That Glenn Beck is one good looking fella.
Less government = fewer idiots.
The system we have is broken. The only way out of this cycle is to reduce it’s scope to a minimum.
Isn’t that like firing all of the doctors at the hospital to improve the health of the patients?
No, because doctors generally perform a good when they work. The same cannot be said for Congress. The fewer opportunities Congress has to act on any matter, the fewer the opportunities to screw up. As it stands, Congress predominantly screws up–or just screws the public.
Q: What’s the difference between a Democrat and a Republican?
A: A Republican will, to your face, bribe you with your own money. A Democrat will, behind your back, bribe everyone else with your money.
