Memorial Day, 2011

Rather than offer my pale thoughts this year, I defer to those of Eric Mayer at the Military Underdog.  My father, like Eric’s, served in World War II.  My father, unlike Eric’s, is still alive, and goes to work every weekday at the Coast Guard base where he’s the public affairs officer.  I’m fortunate to still be able to tell my father that I love him.

He won’t live forever, and someday I hope to be able to express my thoughts to my father as well as Eric expressed his.

Please read A Memorial Day Letter to Dad.
