Bits & Pieces

Michael Mukasey is  confirmed as Attorney General.  He’s rumored to be taking a vacation on an island just south of Florida where he’s planning to do a little waterboarding.  We hope he finds it relaxing.

Bernard Kerik is indicted.  My good buddy, Joe Tacopina wants to know if this means he has to give the wristwatch back.

From I Was The State :

Why The Dollar Is Sinking
The Senate overrides Bush’s veto of the pork laden water resources bill. What courage. The same Senate that can’t take a stand on any important issue bands together to save local pet projects. My tax dollars are going to resand Barbara Boxer’s beaches in California, inter alia. Meanwhile, the deficit is officially over $9 TRILLION.

If you don’t think the devaluation of the dollar matters, buy something.  Just because it’s too much for most people to try to understand doesn’t mean that it isn’t making our lives miserable daily.  Thank God we have enough credit left over to borrow money to pay for the war in Iraq.  It would be wrong to “cut and run,” no matter what the price.

Ron Kuby’s radio show with Guardian Angel’s founder Curtis Sliwa is  canceled to make room for the new Imus in the morning show.  Kuby was overheard mumbling under his breath, “nappy headed ho.”

“He gets my job, and I’m told about the high price he paid,” Kuby continued, his voice rising in disbelief. “He’s paid? What about me? The press release ought to say, `Ron Kuby has paid a high price for Don Imus’ mistake.’ He gets $20 million, an eight-month vacation and my job.”

Sliwa was back on the air without Kuby. The beret-wearing broadcaster will end up with a show in a different time slot, operating without [Kuby].

In a related story, Bill Kunstler was heard laughing.

Arthur Bremer, the man convicted of shooting Alabama Governor and presidential candidate George Wallace, will be  released tomorrow from prison.  He was originally sentenced to 63 years, later reduced to 53 years, and received 17 years off for “good aim behavior.”

In a related story, Bill Kunstler was heard laughing.  Oh yeah.  He’s dead.
