Murder And Rape For The Cause

As evidence of the age, a great many videos have emerged from Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel yesterday. Given what we’ve seen from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, mass destruction, murder and mayhem have become common. Images no longer shock as they once did, but this video was so repugnant that it hit a nerve.

The woman, now stripped and dead, in the back of the pickup in which terrorists celebrate their victory, was a 30-year-old German who was in Israel at a music festival. There are plenty of other videos available, should you feel the urge to see more. Having seen many, I don’t feel any need to see more or spread them any further. Knowing they’re there is enough.

While most on the left abhor what the terrorists are doing to women, children, the elderly and, yes, men and soldiers, raping, murdering, kidnapping, it’s hard to square with their long-held beliefs that Israel is evil and the Palestinians are good. Their world is divided into oppressed and oppressors, and as with most rationalizations used to justify their inherently conflicted and irrational views, there is nothing the oppressed can do to their oppressors that’s wrong and worthy of condemnation.

Everybody is for decolonisation until it is actually time to decolonise. Did you think it would be pretty? That this process towards equity for Palestinians would be bloodless?

If by any means necessary makes you uncomfortable then you aren’t for decolonisation, not really.

Frankly, this is at least consistent, disgusting as it may be to validate rape and murder in the name of “decolonization.” After all, the “by any means necessary” has become a staple of woke ideology, feigning tolerance, civility and love or they will rape and murder you if don’t comply. @Ayan knows which team she’s on and she will support them no matter what they do. According to her twitter bio, she’s a writer, listing Teen Vogue and Vox among her credits.

This twit was chosen only because it was the first one I saw this morning. Yesterday, I saw many similar twits, progressives vehemently rationalizing their tribe’s favored Palestinian terrorists over the civilians being murdered in Israel as the price of “decolonization,” one of the left’s causes célèbre. This is the shift from such bourgeois principles as rape and murder are bad to identity, where the group identified as oppressed is always right, because the oppressed can’t be wrong.

For the most part, this manifests here as cancellation or denigration. Where once we had disagreement, perhaps unpleasant but tolerable in a pluralistic society, now we have the need to silence and destroy to the extent possible. But at least “destroy” tends not to involve the rape and murder of the target of hatred, and the collateral damage of bystanders being raped and murdered in the process. There are exceptions, as acts of violence in furtherance of the cause are becoming increasingly common, but they still don’t rise to the level of horror perpetrated by Palestinian terrorists in Israel.

But Ayan was right, this was a test of the fortitude of American progressive who espoused “decolonization” but, when confronted with it in action, no longer had the stomach to back the rapists and murders. Not Ayan. Not those like Ayan. They support the oppressed Palestinians against their oppressor, Israel, and as the oppressed must be defeat their colonizers by “any means necessary,” rape and murder are just tools to achieve a glorious victory.

Are you only a fair-weather progressive? Do you have the stomach for some rape and murder for the cause? Didn’t you realize this was what you’ve been fighting for?

As someone with a progressive perspective, I want to publicly express my strong and unequivocal condemnation of Hamas human rights violations committed in pursuit of military or political goals.

As I write this, there are reports of indiscriminate bombings in Gaza causing harm to civilians, and hours of concerning videos exist depicting the mistreatment of women, children, and the elderly by IDF soldiers. I urge you and every SJ commenter to consider similar statements of public condemnation of the team you support, in any conflict.

This is the second time I’ve requested clarity regarding your principled position on state-sponsored violence against civilians in a week. It seems silly to say this, but dunking on me doesn’t provide it.

      Jake, take a breath here.

Hamas militants murdered more than 700 people—most of whom were innocent civilians—in the single most horrifying and bloody targeting of Jewish people since the Holocaust. You can express your outrage and sense of horror about this massacre without immediately implying that those victims, in some sense, had it coming.

      You can and you should.

      1. Gregory

He isn’t saying they “had it coming.” He’s saying that both intellectual and moral honesty demand that we be outraged by acts of terror regardless of whom they’re committed by.

Usually, I trash comments this flagrantly full of shit. But I’ve decided to post yours so that others can see what pathological garbage gets spewed in defense of raping and murdering women, children and the elderly. Aren’t you proud to be the defender of raping and murdering innocent women, you worthless piece of shit.

Did I miss a time when hundreds of Israeli’s went into Gaza and raped and murdered innocent young people at a music festival, or murdered 40 babies at a Kibbutz?

This absurd effort to create some delusional equivalence between these acts of barbarity and vague, generic grievances of the past stink of bullshit. As I’ve never seen a comment by this Gregory here before, I assume he’s a roving propogandist trying to spin for the psychotic woke. Good on you for calling bullshit on this scumbag.

Jake. Do you not see how you are equating the intentional terrorizing and murdering of civilians with the intentional targeting of military targets and reckless killing of civilians? Do you not also see how you are then equating organized intentional terrorizing and murdering of civilians with intentional but not organized “mistreatment” of civilians?

Do you not understand that those things are not comparable?

      1. SHG Post author

I’m not sure it’s fair to call the killing of Palestinian civilians reckless. Hamas deliberately uses locations that put civilians at risk as a human shield, and Israel usually tries to notify civilians to leave the area for their safety before taking military action.

Decolonization is good in some contexts, but not in Uganda, where the black natives have shown their incapacity for self-governance by enacting “harsh anti-LGBTQ laws.” If they are going to have their own laws, those laws must be laws the white progressives approve. This same thing will happen to the Palestinians when Hamas starts throwing gay people off rooftops.

    1. SHG Post author

I’ve had numerous comments today that were trashed because were off topic, but never did I imagine Uganda would be brought into the comments to this post.

      1. B. McLeod

Maybe Faultlines will host a debate: “colonization; point, counterpoint.” Should be able to get a “progressive” on each side.

  4. Molly Godiva

I am a progressive and the only time I have ever heard of the “by any means necessary” tactic is in the context of affirmative action, and that was a fringe group.

So sticking your fingers in your ears and warbling “La La La, I can’t hear you…” keeps your hands clean?

As of 11:20 am Pacific time Artan Ayan has courageously deleted her tweet praising the Hamas rapists. Apparently she lacked the immoral fortitude of a true revolutionary.

    1. B. McLeod

Probably should have held the praise to begin with, until it is determined whether Hamas plans to generally endorse rape and murder, versus a few of their out-of-control, lumpen thugs, deciding to commit such actions during a Hamas sanctioned attack.

“If by any means necessary makes you uncomfortable then you aren’t for __________, not really.”

Whoever says a line like this in a movie is probably the villain.

  7. Ray

Maybe these so called progressives aren’t progressives at all. They’re just antisemitic. Maybe it’s just that simple. Ugly, but simple.

  8. Jesse Nelson

Speaking as an American, forced under duress to fund the American government’s “policies”, it’s no surprise that Iraqis were mad.

As well as Iran under the Shah, backed by you-know-who.

Same with the Israeli treatment of Palestinians since 1948. Declared by someone in the UN with no input by the homeowners there at the time.

Outrageous atrocities are still outrageous atrocities. I can’t argue babies or women being targeted or involved. It’s not even a tactic, likely just bloodlust amongst young men radicalized.

If any semi-populous city, state, region with any appreciable population in the United States were treated like the people in the Gaza Strip, the reaction would be 10 fold more violent than Hamas.

    1. SHG Post author

No, sane people do not respond by raping women, shooting the elderly and beheading babies. Sane people do not justify such conduct under any circumstances. Your ignorant and simplistic grasp of the problem aside, your reaction is not that of a sane person. Calling Hamas’ barbarity outrageous but justifiable is not sane. It’s evil. You are evil. There is no justification for what happened.

    2. Tris

No it wouldn’t. You’re dreaming sick dreams.

Also, under duress forced to pay taxes? lol. Move to Mexico. Easy. Get a new nationality. Absolve yourself of all of these sins you see. Every second you don’t you’re not doing everything possible to stop it.
