It’s the Economy, Stupid?

Not that I’m qualified to render political opinions, but didn’t anyone wonder where all the money was coming from to pay for the war in Iraq all these years?  Didn’t anyone wonder what, with all that money diverted to the war du jour and the United States printing new dollar bills on toilet paper, running up deficits and borrowing like crazy, the impact would be on our economy?

We are not producing any products that anyone else buys.  We spend money like crazy.  Saudi arabia owns all the best US real estate, as we ship our money and work to China and India.  It is all part of the same jigsaw puzzle, and just because the American public can compartmentalize each component doesn’t mean that it’s not connected.  Guys, it’s all coming out of the same pockets, and always has been.

We’ve been killing ourselves economically for years.  So why now are the anti-terrorist, president-admiring, war-loving folks suddenly shocked to find that all the money spent is gone, and somebody has to pay for it?  Worse yet, for those of us who weren’t happy to sacrifice our economic future to “stay the course” with “honor”, we have to pay for your choices as well.

Freedom is definitely not free.  Unfortunately, now we have neither freedom nor the money to pay the bill.  Nice going.  How about you all now admit you were stupid, slink back into your hole and let somebody else clean up your mess before you do even more damage.
