But I’m all fairness, the concept of printable paper money is actually really complicated as are the monetary causes of inflation, and I doubt most folks understand it well. Or at all.

NMT is a thought experiment on very question troubling the bewildered girl in the video. That it hasn’t been conclusively debunked illustrates how hard the question is, as do the calls for a return to the gold standard that we hear occasionally from a reactionary in Congress.
Nothing is ever “conclusively debunked” anymore because there are always geniuses to argue in support like this one.
I guess that Humpty Dumpty, having convinced the world that words now mean whatever we want them to, has moved on to monetary policy.
