A New Neighbor From The Hinterlands – Judgment Day

It was getting more than a little depressing to see that new criminal defense blawgs were coming from Texas on a daily hourly basis, and here in New York, the mother lode of criminal defense (though thankfully nary the execution or polygamist sect), deafening silence.

Until now.  I am thrilled to announce that a new blawg has moved into the neighborhood, Judgment Day, just a hop, skip and jump north of the Throgs Neck Bridge, in the Third Department covering 28 upstate counties.

Judgment Day is run by an appellate lawyer who calls himself “Blakely” (because Gideon is so old school),  Blakely has already has plenty of great stuff posted.  As we all know, appellate lawyers love to write, so I’m looking forward to another heavy hitter in the blawgosphere and hope he keeps up the posting on a daily basis.

Since most of us downstate guys don’t pay a lot of attention to the upstate arms of the Appellate Division, except when they make some serious gaffe, it will be great to have a blawger who’s got his finger on the pulse of the Third (and maybe even Fourth?) Departments so we can hear about the brilliant work they’re doing.  After all, this is our very own Unified Court System, and as long as there is no conflicting downstate precedent, those decisions apply to us as well, though we mostly ignore them.

So go check out Blakely at  Judgment Day and give him a welcome to the Blawgosphere.
