Marc Randazza at the Legal Satyricon has posted a decidedly un-Satyr-like video of Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, D-RI, former United States Attorney, former Rhode Island Attorney General, on the subject of the “Protect America Act.”
As has become fashionable in Washington, naming laws in such a way as to suggest that disagreement is unAmerican, and that disagreement reflects a lack of will to protect Americans in the ongoing war against whatever we are at war with today. This is one such law.
This isn’t a new video, though it’s new to me. But it’s an awfully good reminder that with all the vague and fuzzy discussion of freedom that has filtered through the media lately, we still have some legal issues to address and, hopefully, correct. Lots of them.
