There will be wild speculation about why Jared Lee Loughner, 22, decided to shoot 19 people at a Safeway Supermarket.  It may be psychosis. It may be politics. It may be the combination of the two. 

As I know nothing more about this than anyone else reading and hearing reports, I offer the thoughts of Pima County Sheriff Clarence W. Dupnik.



Whether he’s right or wrong about Loughner, his words are worth hearing.
