If the name Shiva Ayyadurai sounds familiar, it’s likely because he sued Mike Masnick and Techdirt over its calling bullshit on Ayyadurai’s claim that he invented email. He lost. But he’s running for Senate from Massachusetts and, well, see for yourself.
I will take a punch in the face ANY DAY for America & Free Speech. We will have another ANTI-RACIST Rally against the scumbag #FakeIndian @SenWarren and her White Supremacist THUGS. JOIN US. Declare Your Independence! Stop Race War pic.twitter.com/IOtTCTzi1h
— Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai,PhD (M.I.T.) Inventor of Email (@va_shiva) July 22, 2018
Try untwisting this mash of humanity and insanity, all under the cries of racism. This is the best a future of social justice can bring, warring tribes reduced to violence in the name of their personal flavor of justice.
Is the racist the white guy, violating the fundamental rule of social justice that white people can never challenge a person of color? Is the racist (or sexist) Ayyadurai for attacking Sen. Liz Warren? Are they all racists? Who decides?
The one thing that’s clear is that it ends up in violence, because no matter how much they want to wrap themselves in righteousness, they’re just brutish, ignorant thugs with a new religion wrapped up in lofty goals, backed by force.

Y’ know, I’m starting to believe chemtrails are real.
Wait. They’re not?
yes, and they contain barium, aluminum, and brain parasites….most notably the recently discovered “logiculas absentia”along with “viralious retardis”…a deadly combination that currently has no known cure.
I would so love to see the cops just walk away and let’em have at it….all hail Eris!
He played the race card in his email case too (as well as many of his other public statements on the subject), which is odd–an awful lot of the pioneers in tech have been of Indian descent, and the industry/community has had no problem recognizing them. In this case? They both suck.
How dare you question a cry of racism from a POC. You are not allowed. NOT ALLOWED!!!
I do enjoy the guy who filed a bullshit defamation claim announcing that he’s always ready to “take a punch in the face . . . for Free Speech.”
You old white guys and your obsession with hypocrisy. I’m literally shaking.
The fact that I can’t like comments on this platform and have to take the time to reply is racist.
I would say sexist because it’s so exhausting.
Correcting me is definitely sexist. And these damn math problems are clearly a nod to the sexist STEM fields.
His campaign site still touts him as the inventor of Email. Wikipedia notes that he was married to Fran Drescher for two years. Probably a field day for the press is all that will come of this bid for office.
If we’re calling people out for things, I’m calling out Dr. Ayyadurai for that twitter profile picture. He isn’t that thin and that sure as hell isnt his hairline based on the video.
So lookist. But fat-shame away if you must.
You’re being very ist-ist today, you know.
STOP JUDGING ME!!!
I would pay to see video of you yelling this in court.
It’s kind of sad that he has so little self-awareness, as demonstrated by his Twitter name. I mean, sure, the redundancy of “Dr. X, Ph.D.” is a reliable indicator that he’s a douchebag. But if he didn’t tag every single Twit with “inventor of email”, most people would probably read them without thinking, “oh yeah, he’s the asshole that can’t stop lying about having invented email.” It reduces, rather than enhances, what credibility he has.
But he filed his appeal against Techdirt a few weeks back. He’s totally going to win.
Won’t.
He’s a doctor and a PhD? Must be an authority.
He’s from MIT, so probably proctology.
I’ll allow him to defend free speech when he stops suing people for exercising their free speech rights.
I have to thank Shiva for one thing.
As a coauthor of MIME – the specification for how multimedia email is done on the Internet – a claim that I am an inventor of email has at least some legitimacy.
But having personal schwag made to state this would be presumptuous. Happily, one of the things Techdirt did when Shiva sued them was to have “I Invented Email” cups and shirts made. I duly ordered a set, and now wear and use them when the mood strikes. Frabjous!
Now if I could figure out a way to get a copy of his book on the future of email. I have no doubt it’s a laugh riot for anyone knowledgeable in the field, but I don’t want to support him by purchasing one directly and there don’t appear to be any used ones. Hopefully they’ll show up after Warren trounces him and he loses his appeal.
