The federal deficit swelled 62% to $263.3 billion in the first five months of the buget year.  February’s deficit was a reord $175.6 billion.

Only 28% of Americans know that hearly 4,000 U.S. troops have died since the Iraq war began, a survey found.

Crude Rose $1,17 to a record close of $109.92 a barrel despite a larger-than-expected increase in inventories.

Bush vowed to veto a House bill that fails to give immunity to telephone companies that may have cooperated with the administration’s warrantless wiretapping program.
